This is a duplicate of issue #1 so I am going to mark it as duplicate and close 
it.

This is due to apparently multicast problems with the HTC Desires WIFI chipset.

I'm not convinced that its a hardware issue as Remote For Itunes has no
issues with connection whatsoever.

you might be right but the only users reporting pairing issues with 
TunesRemote+ are HTC users.  You can read the long thread here where a user 
diagnosed it all the way down to WIFI Driver... See Post #46 on if you don't 
feel like reading them all.
