Need to re-pair when switching from one identical iTunes library instance to another

I have two iTunes servers each running under Windows XP Home SP3. They are 
connected via wired LAN with fixed IP addresses. I consider one to be a master 
(M) and it has an external HDD assigned drive letter T: with a directory 
structure containing my media files (self managed) and the iTunes library 
files. The other server (say Copy or C) also has an external drive T: and this 
is manually maintained as a copy of all M's directories (using Robocopy).

Obviously both libraries have the same name, and I would guess the same GUID 
although I have no knowledge of iTunes internals. (I think iTunes only holds 
the current library file name in the Registry to allow switching between 
libraries and the GUID is in the library file but maybe that's not correct.) 

Each server is in a different room and has its own Wireless AP - same network 
SSID but different channel. All linked via one master DHCP Router - same LAN 
subnet for both wired and wireless. The Hudl (Android device) is also assigned 
a fixed IP address on the LAN.

With TunesRemote+ I can readily pair with either of my iTunes servers. Once 
paired I can make and remake the connection ad infinitum and the pairing 
survives power downs on all the kit.

However if I want to switch to using TunesRemote+ on the other iTunes server, 
although the server is seen with its correct (different) fixed IP address, I 
have to re-pair. Once that's done I can use that server ad infinitum without 
re-pairing.

Now if I want to use TunesRemote+ back on the first iTunes server, again I can 
see its correct fixed IP address but I'm forced to re-pair and I'm back to 
square one.

I'm wondering if this is to be expected due to the design of TunesRemote+

Interestingly, using the Apple Remote app on an iPod touch, I always see both 
servers in a list of two. They both have the same name of course but the same 
one is always first. And, although I don't tend to, I can move from room to 
room disconnecting from one server and connecting to the other and then back 
again as often as I please with no requirement to re-pair.

Many thanks - it's otherwise a super app and better than Apple's offering in 
other respects.

Have you tried the FREE app Retune?  it blows TunesRemote+ out of the water 
which is why development on this app has gone fallow...

I did try Retune but it just hung trying to generate lists
of Artists/Albums etc

I noticed Retune said it required iTunes v10 or later and of
course I'm still on v8 on my principle of "if it ain't
broke...". My library is quite large and I fear an iTunes
version upgrade may be non trivial.

I might acquire a second Android device at some point and
then I could dedicate one to each iTunes server.

Another tactic that works is to use bVNC to connect to an
UltraVNC service running on the server and drive iTunes as
if typing directly on the server's keyboard/display. That
has no problem switching between servers. But it's not as
convenient.

Understood.  Yeah it must be some weird bug in TunesRemote+ somehow not being 
unique enough the way the iPod Remote does it.  I will leave this bug open 
maybe someone will grab it.
