This addresses issue #9

Thanks for pulling this together and making a PR! I'm going to pull in the older query-based tests to make sure we can answer the same questions.

I forgot that there were older tests. They will certainly fail, because I didn't try to make the schema backward compatible in any way.

I've got the code from the old tests. Let me keep pushing on this... I don't want to have every change I make add more work on your plate. :-/
