Demographic questions will be asked at registration. We're thinking do them one by one with new questions dropping down.
User will be able to opt out (/ will not be compelled to finish) at anytime. This will prompt some sort of (interactive?) explanation of why the answers to these questions will improve their ux.
If users opt out a subtle but similar version the questions will reappear after they vote on Stories.
Perhaps only one question per vote, test and find out.
If the users try to opt-out again they will be forwarded back to the explanation, or mebbe another version of it, or perhaps just leave the questions there with no opt-out but make it unobtrusive.
Key will be in showing how providing VOX with more info will increase their connectivity to the types of Stories and authors they will like.
