messages written by OX Coi will not received by Delta Chat #550

Messages written with OX Coi (current play store version) will not received by Delta Chat (also current play store version).

This happens with my GMX Account.

Please don't split the e-mail messenger market into OX-Coi and Delta Chat.

We need as much as possible compatible clients for the same infrastructure. In other case, facebook will win the "messenger war". And OX-Coi and Delta Chat will be the loser.

You know:"There is power in the union".

Please don't work against each other. Please work together.

Thanks for this feedback, I will investigate what's up there. As we decided together with the Delta Chat team to use specific headers and similar stuff to recognize messages, I'm quite confused why and how this happens. But as I said I will have a look and this is definitely not intentional from our side.

Great. Thank you for come back 👍

I keep testing and also watching DC and Coi stay compatible 😉

➡️ ox coi can not be used with any alias, this is actually the reason why I will not use this app. I do not give the app itself a future.

Data protection also means for me, not to be on the road with my real name everywhere.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. We are already working on this problem, as noted in issue https://github.com/open-xchange/ox-coi/issues/362. So support for aliases is planned, as it's a pretty handy feature in general and also privacy related as mentioned by you.

@webratte I just checked the general communication flow between COI and DCC and with my setup (my private mail server and a COI testing mail server) everything went well. So a good message is there's nothing generally broken (like protocol, headers or something similar). I tested with our internal COI developer version, which uses an updated DCC, possibly this is the fix for the problem. We will monitor this problem and hopefully it will just vanish with the next update of COI. If not it could also be related to the given provider.

Thank you.

I use GMX on Coi side. I will check it out and give feedback as soon the next version will reach the google play store.
