3D objects should be easily oriented and joined with selectable degrees of freedom.
e.g. two rotated parts should be attached face to face at their center lines with all DOFs locked except the rotation around the center line.
or instances of an object should be arranged in circular or rectangular patterns. if the original object is changed all instances change as well.
