This issue doesn't make sense since I haven't pushed in forever, but locally I have gitstatus packaged. I should also package powerlevel10k directly wiht it and make sure all three play nice together.

Actually, no. I don't like all of the gitstatus-y things that take forever. Plus, it tends to encourage lazy habits that wind up biting me when I'm on other systems. Without it, I have better habits of running git status frequently to keep aware of my current branch, etc.

gitstatus is super fast. also this is already in nixpkgs.
