wifi not working

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. virgin 1.1.1 phone downgraded to 1.0.2 to activate and unlock
2. during process of adding ssh, itunes left on and screwed things up and then 
I lost wifi
3. resetting iphones settings / network settings does not solve, nor does 
returning to 1.1.1 and 
bringing it back to 1.0.2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
"no wifi" in grey on iphone.  should see my wifi network instead.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
osx on a mac g5, independence 1.23 and 1.25

Please provide any additional information below.
Does anyone know how to restore the WIFI to an iphone?  Mine got knocked out 
during a 1.1.1 
downgrade to 1.0.2 then upgrade back to 1.1.1.  I am stuck with an iphone that 
does not have 
wifi operational and cannot get this phone to successfully do a pre 1.1.1 
upgrade.  Any help 
would be much appreciated...

Sorry, basically bringing the phone back to its original state and starting the 
process of downgrading the 
firmware to 1.0.2 and then using independence to activate and jailbreak it -- 
done that a dozen times without 
having any effect on the restoring wifi.
