how do i use this? do i need to compile it myself?

Sorry for the late response. Yes, you do need to compile it yourself to use any of it right now, as there is currently no build system nor any releases. Just do note this is very much a work in progress! A lot of functionality, especially on the user-friendliness side, is missing.
