An online version of Optar could be awesome! I know it can be a lot of work but I am sure it could become a great inspiration for archive projects, art, and research. I don't have the skills to do such a fork, at least not the dev part. Maybe we can talk about that? Awesome idea by the way. I am part of a collective named http://webarchivists.org/ and we love your project.

That's a great idea. I'm not quite sure how it'd work, though. Upload a file, receive a PDF?

I'm not the original developer of optar. Rather, I saw the code and wanted to cache it here on Github because it took me hours to locate the source and where I found it wasn't very stable, IIRC.

That is smart to host a copy here on GitHub. Yes, upload a file (with a limit?), recieve one or many pdf…? Each printed pdf must have a footer containing basic informations about decoding, and maybe a link to a more deeper documentation hosted on archive.org. This is just ideas…
