Composer will install this package in the local code pool. Tested with magento-hackathon/magento-composer-installer

Confirm. Tried to find why Redis Session not working and the reason above is exact what cause this

Thanks for testing and confirming it works. You can see my comment on #108 regarding the reason for the way it was setup but it sounds like it is causing issues as it is still.
