License clarification #6

Open jplouis opened 8 years ago

jplouis commented 8 years ago

The setup.py lists the licens as GPL, but also has a classifier for BSD. The readme.rst references BSD-ish and the docs directory has a BSD like license.txt and a GPL file. Is the intent to publish the library under BSD, GPL or dual licensed?

Thanks

djay commented 8 years ago

Which would prefer? I suspect all plone plugins have to GPL anyway...

jplouis commented 8 years ago

We don't use Plone but were going to try and use the plugin with Zope. We would prefer BSD, many projects under github.com/collective are licensed with BSD.

Thanks

I see no problem with using a permissive (BSD) license. I assume other contributors won't object, so unless i hear from @djay @macagua @kcleong @puittenbroek @maartenkling @pysailor @ovidiumiron @ltakens or @zopyx, lets's accept a pull request that makes the product BSD-licensed.
