Use mailchimp (e.g. with https://github.com/collective/collective.mailchimp) or https://github.com/collective/Products.EasyNewsletter (not very modern but it kind off works in Plone 4).

we're still using it for a plone 4.3 project and adding improvements/customizations here and there.

not sure if we'll keep using s&d when the project is ported to plone5 though. will need to try out how much work it will be.
