LDAP manager user/pw mandatory...unable to connect without credentials #62

We have a customer whose LDAP server can be queried without authentication. Why are user and pw for the manager account mandatory instead of optional?

12 addresses this and I have no idea why it was not merged. But I have no time to look now.
