Additionally to remove the cursor, you can modify the
/etc/wayfire/greeter.ini
. You can include the hide-cursor plugin under [core] section.plugins = autostart-static pixdecor winshadows hide-cursor plugins_nogl = autostart-static pixdecor hide-cursor
i can try this later, i hope it does not trigger hover effects. Is there a possibility to just move it via default to a corner? e.g. top left?
Also this does not work The cursor is not visible, but it is at the center of the screen and triggers hover effects on the websites
Can you share the contents of the file /usr/share/greeter.ini ?
Can you share the output of the command wlr-randr
?
Does not give any useful info using SSH so you might have to use a keyboard
It says HDMI-A-2 I added:
[output]
[output:HDMI-A-0]
mode = 1920x1080
transform = normal
[output:HDMI-A-1]
mode = 1920x1080
transform = normal
[output:HDMI-A-2]
mode = 1920x1080
transform = normal
I'll let you know tomorrow if it works
Ok It seems to be fixed. The only thing left is that the cursor is still triggering hovereffects.
That's Great !
Any news about the cursor?
We'll update this space once we come up with anything.
Hi @Quietscher
Can you use the latest 5.1.2 piSignage image LINK ?
Here are the release notes https://github.com/colloqi/piSignage/blob/master/RELEASE%20NOTES.md#512
@AbhijithBn Did you change anything regarding the cursor?
No, but we have a different approach to the LightDM crash issue. This should bypass the cursor issue mentioned.
okay i updated it but it is buggy
When using
sudo apt update && sudo apt -y full-upgrade & sudo sed -i 's/$/ vc4.force_hotplug=1/' /boot/firmware/cmdline.txt
The content is displayed outside of the monitor and the monitor only shows "piSignage"
This happened again
Can you try using a fresh 5.1.2 image from HERE to rule out all the previous changes that were done from causing these isssues?
We had the problem earlier
Can you try using a fresh 5.1.2 image from HERE to rule out all the previous changes that were done from causing these isssues?
if it is really neccessary. Because then i have to set up everything again. including the pages nginx, ssh and so on
Please use HDMI-1 and check the behaviour on the actual display rather than the screenshot
Yes I did check the screen and its just the black. Its exactly like my quote above from weeks ago. I will try again with HDMI 1.
HMDI 1 works, but Cursor still triggers hovereffects in the middle of the screen. Also I need to check in 30min if the greeter appears

Yes we recommend starting fresh. You can use a different SD Card to check this maybe? If you are using Raspberry Pi imager, please refrain from any OS customizations such as SSH or Autologin, Network Config,etc.
Okay freshly new installed and set up. Ill let it run and post in 30min again whether it shows the greeter. The mouse is still triggering hovereffects.
I think the easiest option is to add a custom field in the piSignage Server options, where the mouse should be on the Signage. @AbhijithBn
Also, there is a new bug @AbhijithBn @colloqi. With the Version 5.1.2 this Bug occurs: After a certain amount of time (sth between 1h - 4h) the pi / the piSignage freezes and I can't connect via ssh anymore.
Is this issue happening on a fresh install pisignage 5.1.2 or on the one you upgraded from previous version?
Fresh install
Can you send us the output of the command
ps -ef | grep wayfire
pi 22235 22155 0 08:10 ? 00:00:00 systemd-inhibit --what=handle-power-key /usr/bin/wayfire pi 22269 22235 1 08:10 ? 00:00:02 /usr/bin/wayfire pi 24808 24613 0 08:14 pts/0 00:00:00 grep --color=auto wayfire
this is the current output, but i just restarted it, i dont know if it helps
@Quietscher Can you share your username on pisignage.com at support at pisignage.com with reference to this ticket?
No I am sorry. We are hosting piSignage Server by our selfs, so I do not have a pisignage account
No issues
Can you check the disk-usage by issuing the command and send us the output?
df -h
If it has 100% utilization, can you issue these 2 commands and send us the output?
du /home/pi/apps-data/.config/chromium -h -d 1
du /home/pi/apps-data/.config/chromium/weblink-0 -h -d 1
EDIT: updated the commands to check the disk usage
disc usage of piSignage server or piSignage instance on the pi?
Pi: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on udev 1.8G 0 1.8G 0% /dev tmpfs 399M 1.5M 398M 1% /run /dev/mmcblk0p2 117G 6.1G 106G 6% / tmpfs 2.0G 12M 2.0G 1% /dev/shm tmpfs 5.0M 12K 5.0M 1% /run/lock /dev/mmcblk0p1 510M 117M 394M 23% /boot/firmware tmpfs 399M 36K 399M 1% /run/user/1000
Disk usage of the Pi. Are you able to login using ssh now?
Pi: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on udev 1.8G 0 1.8G 0% /dev tmpfs 399M 1.5M 398M 1% /run /dev/mmcblk0p2 117G 6.1G 106G 6% / tmpfs 2.0G 12M 2.0G 1% /dev/shm tmpfs 5.0M 12K 5.0M 1% /run/lock /dev/mmcblk0p1 510M 117M 394M 23% /boot/firmware tmpfs 399M 36K 399M 1% /run/user/1000
This is from the pi and the error occurs after a couple of hours.
The problem will definetly come again, since we didnt change anything yet 🤔

Can we know which asset is causing the issue, if possible can you send a screenshot of the playlist contents to support at pisignage.com?
The Asset cant cause the issue. The assets did not change between the versions. They are Weblinks (CORS supported).
Is there any chance we can get those links to test here?
Okay yesterday it happened again. But that must have been after 6h or more
OK so, I cant ssh to it anymore, I cant open the terminal even with a keyboard connected to the pi, the picture is frozen and the Pi 5 lamp that is usually shining in bright green is shining less but still a little green. The fan spinns, but not constant, it seems to try to process sth.
The only way I can get out of this by now is by unplugging the Pi from the powersource and replugging it in. This seems like a major bug.
Before you unplug the power supply can you try the following?
df -h
du /home/pi/apps-data/.config/chromium -h -d 1
du /home/pi/apps-data/.config/chromium/weblink-0 -h -d 1

Please read. I can't because it does not recognize any input. Additionally it does not show any cursor. AND I cant ssh.
It is still connected to your open-source server right? You can issue those commands and send us the output.
I am sorry that is not possible. This is the only hints I have.
The pi is not connected
Is there any chance we can get those links to test here?
Is this possible
Can you keep your Player connected to pisignage.com instead of open-source server while we figure out this issue?
These are the assets:
Morning! After about 30 min, the greeter appears and is overlaid on top of piSignage. Therefore, the Signage is not usable anymore.
System:
sudo apt update; sudo apt -y full-upgrade
More information: It seems to be the same problem as in ISSUE, but the issue's naming is misleading. We tried to solve the issue by ourselves but couldn't fix it. We found out:
Resources we found, but that couldn't solve the problem:
