big red X appears only when clicking squares in FICS gamewidget after killling connection #872

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Play or observe a FICS game
2. Close the FICS Lounge window

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The gamewidget is supposed to have that big red X drawn, but it's not drawn 
immediately or at all. For me, it's like the game minesweeper :) The lines of 
the X only start to appear/get drawn near adjacent board squares as i click 
them.

Maybe this is a regression related to my fixes recently? Either a) clear 
dragged premove pieces after game end and/or b) my recent BoardControl deadlock 
fixes
