It is very useful when it is possible to link specific object using just its listed id.

For example https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1080446?section=official-list-entry can be generated using just 1080446 id and knowledge that link is formatted as https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/$ID?section=official-list-entry.
