IDEA: Spatial Units and Statistical analysis, etc. #60

This board is dedicated to discussing potential ideas for updating the platform:

  1. Community Zone Layer: Business Improvement District (BID - provided by the council), Bell Foundry People Zone, and other relevant areas. - discussed with Polly

  2. Statistical Function - for all or some categories: dragging multiple building polygons - description being updated

    • simple statistics displayed next to the cursor
    • or downloadable selected building data to support the statistics

  3. Spatial Units: building/street block polygons (same to the parcel/lot of a building/house and its group) - description being updated

    • downloadable to support community groups' / local authorities' town planning
    • or allowing audiences to color the polygons to facilitate crowdsourced data collection.
    • Etc.

  4. Land Use: vertical land use - description being updated

  5. Spatial scale: macro, meso to micro range of spaces

Other ideas to be updated.

area covered per hex grid cell distribution of overlap between datasets distribution of polygon footprint area

The spatial unit aids in creating cultural / societal / context map in colour, which would include community features (zone, etc.)
