stormproof entrance sign #228

The sign by our entrance has been brought down by at least three storms this year.

@beanobeano and I have picked it up a few times and fixed it with the same parts as before, but that does not seem to be enough: the thin zip ties keep ripping, causing the sign to become detached from the magnets at its corners. The magnets themselves are fine I think, but we should try to make the connection out of bigger zip ties or even metal.

If anyone would like to try an improvement idea, the sign lies on a table in the common room :-)

I replaced some of the U-Bolts of the Prusa printer beds with 3d printed parts for better alignment. Do you think these could be used to fix the sign in place?

Hmm, not sure - I know which parts you mean, but they might be trickier to attach to the magnets than just some wire cable because they'd require two holes in the proper distance.

@U1is and I replaced the zip ties with recycled copper cables, those should not rip ;-)

if the sign falls again, I'd say we need to tackle the magnets themselves.
