We're both working on the same codebase and there are some minor changes I've made. This PR helps make these changes explicitly visible. Much of the code in this PR is your work. You may notice an empty file .gitkeep which I added so that the data folder will be created in clones of this repo. It's how git supports management of these otherwise empty folders. (At some point soon let's update the project's readme to document the code in src and how to run it).
