Just thinking @melaniepatrick, it would be good to get the donation page up quickly to help even just a small amount with revenue.

I'm thinking we offer 3 options (with the middle one pre-selected) and maybe a "your own sum" input box, offer "one off" or "recurring monthly" payment, and a GDPR email option. Then we pipe them through Stripe Checkout and say "Thanks! Feel free to buy some books now that you're a member of the donor community."

What do you think?

Yes thanks Jan. sounds good.

Remember I mentioned before about moving people onto a community sub (ie no books) when they go to click 'cancel'. So we'd say they could stay for £3 and still have access to other member benefits (ie the community portal, free events etc). This sounds kind of similar if they actually get membership? But it's quick and easy. So yes let's do it for now if you can do it quickly.

Hi Jan Just wanted to let you know I have set up the Donation in Stripe that we spoke about this morning. I thought I'd add it to this thread, rather than emailing.

So I've set it up in test mode, called it Donate and added a little red logo to distinguish it from the one you made earlier. There are 4 price tiers: 25, 50, 100 and 250.

Hope that looks ok, let me know if I need to do anything else. Thanks!

Hey @melaniepatrick, nice one! OK, next step is for us to create a page for donations.

  1. Copy this product to live mode Screenshot 2022-06-06 at 16 39 40
  2. Generate a payment link for each price Screenshot 2022-06-06 at 16 41 42
  3. Create an Information Page in the CMS to put these links.
    • Some donations copy
    • Four boxes, one for each price. Perhaps using the Columns blocks to create a grid, and place a Button block inside each column. Then you can place the payment link in the button URL field.

Just laying out the steps here, but happy to walk through this with you or pick up where you leave off.

When that's done, I can add it to the footer (since the menu editor is currently being fixed)
