Tell us about the community that you are nominating

Web3 Designers

What public goods does this community support or will they support in the future?

Our mission is to advance the field of Design in the Web3 space. We see that being a Public Good that benefit not only designers, but all builders and communities in this space.

Who are the people, DAOs and other organizations already part of this community?

Celestial Council members (Marko, Jaqi, Chiali, Delleon, Vengist, Brittany...), Designers who have been accepted for matchmaking, and close to 1000 other members in our community.

Why do you think this community needs a Commons?

We need a Commons to better align and advance on our mission, to engage (and grow) our community further. We need economic models and incentives to engage more people, and we need governance structure that is more advance than the one we currently have.

What other resources do you have that will make your Commons deployment a success?

We have a multisig with some funds collected through Gitcoin grants. We also receive funding from Panvala as a community member.

Couple of first proposals that would require funding from the Commons:

Education resources (online courses, working materials, web3 starter pack, Web3 Education Hub/Academy)
Working groups doing research and creation of open source design standards (through EIP's and other improvement proposals across multiple chains)
Growing local chapters (that we started recently) supporting local Web3 design communities across the globe
Enhancing the matchmaking process where newly formed Web3 designers are easy to get hired by Web3 organisations and companies (win-win)

Why cannot this initiative be funded by its own token issue, starting small and scaling up? There are lots of possibilities IMO. Does it really need funding? What would be the impact apart from furthering the Web 3 cause?
