Tell us about the community that you are nominating

The community of rural villages everywhere and the people living within it. They typically are not the beneficairies of emerging technologies which can benefit them though there has been many such interventions without a real positive impact.

Web 3 technologies, especially crypto economic systems can contribute significantly toy but it has to approached in the correct context.

What public goods does this community support or will they support in the future?

The full range of Token Engineering technologies, versioned for the idiosyncrasies of the rural sector from Augmented Bonding Curves, AMMs, DAOs, in a way which makes them accessible to the villages

Who are the people, DAOs and other organizations already part of this community?

They are not yet part of the formal community though they have been introduced to the concepts.

Why do you think this community needs a Commons?

To bring uniformity and coherence among the different interventions which are happening across the rural space, across the world. We do believe there is much which can be shares especailly the tools and the experiences to make these far more effective.

What other resources do you have that will make your Commons deployment a success?

Yes, Will Ruddick of Grassroots Economics is ready to collaborate with the Village Commons in this effort.

Before arriving at this approach, I interacted with villagers of three villages in Africa, testing this concept in one village in Africa. Though I am from India and am looking at implementing this in India and other Asian countries, I am in the process of doing the economic model of an African village as African villages are far more simple to model when compared to Indian villages.

How can we set up a DAO for villagers' commons?

The Villagers Commons does not have a DAO mechanism at the moment but it will have one or many soon enough. In fact if you are attempting to implement a DAO for whatever initiative you are interested in we could attempt it, add it to the collection of tools of The Villagers Commons use it as a template for other village entities which could use them. Once we implement the token mechanism, then there would be a way for the DAO which was created under your initiative to and even you to benefit from what you helped create, incentivising you to be involved continuously possibly on other tools and mechanisms too.

The Villagers Commons is very much at the conceptual stage but its potential is HUGE as it is focussed on the OTHER HALF, the deprived half where the Economic Returns and with the correct mechanism design.
