The tour will explore the artist's favorite themes: the arts, science and mathematics.
Michel Goyon explores all the paths of knowledge surrounding the mystery of life, from the history of the earth and the universe, to physics and astronomy, anatomy and the complex structure of living bodies, all sprinkled with popular imagery, contemporary art and art brut.
His experiments gradually led to a passion for the relationship between figure, writing and calculation, and he discovered a new language for apprehending reality: mathematics. Arithmetic, algebra and geometry became his three primary colors.
He enthusiastically explored systems, sequences and arborescences, attempting to reveal the profound links between the microscopic and the macroscopic, numbers and shapes, the interior of bodies and galaxies.
We'll also look at his specific artistic techniques:
Image transfer. Artisanal techniques using animal fat, glue and rubbing, or DIY stencils.
Cut-out pages. The artist develops the almost infinite possibilities of cutting and folding.
Bookbinding. The artist takes advantage of different types of binding to invent hybrid objects in the form of robots, incorporating folds, cut-outs, phosphorus paint and the assembly of recycled objects.
