ALSO NOTE: at some point do we want to have the symbols on the website colored by source? Might be nice? Might be a bad idea since the MtnHub dataset is by far the smallest? Also up to you guys. I do think it would be awesome in the download area to make the dropdown box have options for MH, SP, RegObs, Cocorahs, and then 'all'.

estimated 50 MB / year; lots of data and will slow down the webmap; costs for our DB will increase; need to reconsider if we need to stage these data

Well, I would prioritize things in this way: MtnHub data, then SnowPilot data. The RegObs is already there, so that's good. If we want to get the other, most useful data there for our present modeling purposes, I would suggest looking at the NWAC data. And, if possible, the SNOTEL data, say, just from 2017 (project start) on. I'm not fully informed about your estimates above (the 50MB and what it included). You raise good points about performance and costs. Again, we're not modeling backwards in time, so things can be constrained from 2017 on.
