Heh, you got around to making it before I did :p I did install Dia but I don't want to be redundant and make my own use case diagram :p And Visio is probably better anyways...
Anyways, right now, it feels too scattered. Specifically, the simulator is so far from everyone else. Maybe you can have the stick figures be at the bottom and have arrows pointing up towards the bubbles? Or...actually I'm not sure, but maybe just play with the positioning some more :) Everything else seems fine, though.
And about the issue thing...well it doesn't really matter to me; as long as it isn't something irrelevant, you're fine :)
I agree with Jorenz, it might look better if you align the roles underneath the use cases. Nice work!
Will try that out right now. Thanks
Here are the results
I don't suppose there's a way to keep the roles lined up horizontally, but align the cases into columns?
There is, I will try that now. The only one that might cause trouble is the configure options one. I will put it in a middle column and see how it looks.
I would also change the "Player menu interactions" label to just... I don't know, "Navigator". It seems a little odd next to the others.
Nice. Poor Editor has a stumpy arm, but this looks excellent.
haha that was bugging me too so I gave them all a stumpy arm.
Yep it looks much neater now :) My only issues about the diagram now are purely nitpicky; for example, the "Choose Level" bubble is slightly higher than the "Create Level" bubble, so maybe just do some alignment stuff. Also, I feel meh on the "Navigator" label, but I really can't think of anything else either :\ We can explain what "Navigator" means in the document, I guess.
Also, go have this: :+1:
Edit: lol the stumpy arms
Hehe. Good attempt, but I actually kind of prefer the previous one (with Editor's single stumpy arm). The latest revision looks a little off-balance from my perspective.
I do like that the use case bubbles are closer, but now I see that the "Navigator" is somewhat isolated...
I don't think it's any more isolated than any other part of the diagram. If anything, there's just slightly too much negative space (that is, white space between columns). That's a hard thing to balance though. Like you said, at this point it's mostly picking nits. I think what we have now is great.
:+1:
Well, except that the "Manipulate Level" font size seems to be one size larger than the other bubbles.
I just realized it is all being done in Calibri font too. Any preference in font? I quite fond of Comic Sans lol No I'm not.
I don't seem to see that, but maybe it is. I think the Navigator needs to be moved slighly left more (not the bubbles, just the actor).
Also oh gosh Comic Sans; it should totally be in Wingdings :p Seriously though, it's fine to me, although Jonathan might have a font suggestion.
I use Baskerville for literary prose, but that doesn't seem appropriate here. I'm okay with Calibri.
Not much change in this one. I aligned the stick figures with their columns and gave the font a little bit more breathing room. I think this is the one.
ohgod the doubled-up line on the left
stahp
it hurts
Oh yeah good one lol. I fixed it here lol
Okay. Last nitpick. I think the Editor column items should be reordered as Create, Manipulate, and then Deploy at the bottom. Otherwise, I think we're done here.
Yea, I see why you suggested that. And yea, I ran out of nitpicks too :p
Alright design is down I am going to try to blow up the size a bit while making it look the same. It is tiny on my screen. May help the picture look cleaner on the slides.
Bigger native resolution is better! We can always scale it down if we need to.
This what i have so far for the use case diagram. Let me know if I should change anything you guys don't like. It is based on the final picture i took in class. It feels kind of weird having 3 different versions of the player. I want to finalize this by tonight (2/12/13) so we can focus on writing better requirements and the competitive analysis parts.
Also, I'm pretty sure this qualifies as an issue but I'm not 100%. Let me know if I went about this the wrong way.
