Many users have complained of issues installing on Linux and Windows distributions.
On Linux, the effect of the bug seems severe -- it removes desktop icons.
On Windows, the Launcher does not do anything. MedSavant doesn't open. This may not be related to the installer -- MedSavant may be throwing an exception while initializing on Windows. We've seen this behaviour before when trying to load custom fonts on Windows.
