New Projects and Research pages #154

Simplified Projects and Research pages based on Review Comments
Created writeup for a Research and Projects pages
Removed Menu items under Research and added them as sub-projects on Projects page
Removed menu items from under projects menu
Page update guide in readme (will grow as the site revamp continues)

@davidlange6 review changes made to the Research Page (but Front Page changes (remove collaborations/institutes) will be part of a different PR, this one only includes Research and Projects pages).

removed footnotes (converted to inline links)
removed gemfile.lock

Research Page: linked research page headings (added a link icon to show it is clickable)
Projects page: relevant taglines added to headings
Changed links from "LibInterOP" page to "CppInterOp" Readme link

I merged this as its a step forward. A tweak or two

instead of "For more details, please browse to this link to the project" just put the link in the title of project
we need to sort the projects. eg Clad should be first. Is this done just by ordering the yml?
the spacing of the research page needs improving. (to better separate each chunk of text)

thanks, I'll make these changes along with the upcoming update.

Yet, Project sorting is manual, based on the sequence in the YML, I'll move Clad up as well
