common things to one place, same structure #2

Hi,

Thanks for the great book. I am translating book to Czech language. So there are some concept things. One is common code. Could we move common things to some common place in root directory? And improve translating to something doable. When i am looking to ru and en version, each one is more different. I am for one version.

e.g. We have some images which are common: airship-SSSR-V6.jpg Another images could be translated: Manufacture-with-country_2017.png I am proposing create common directory in root and move common files to it.

And create same structure for each version. root .tex file in both version is different Directories are different.

It's strange to translate. I could look to English and Russian version and create another one, but i don't think that is sense of it.

What do you think about it?

Hi! It will be great if you translate this book into Czech!

If you want I can add your GitHub account to the editors of this project wd_book.

About different versions of English and Russian.

1) I started the Russian version from the template Tufte-LaTeX.One year later I started the English version with the template fmarotta/kaobook. I tried to switch Russian version from Tufte-LaTeX to fmarotta/kaobook, but there are problems with Russian fonts and encodings, so I gave up and left everything as it is. These two styles are common in that they have wide borders for different footnotes which are located near the main text. I like this kind of style.

These two styles have different problems and constraints, which you will know better when you start to work with them. I think that now English version looks more pretty due to the images at the beginning of each chapter. See these two PDF-files.

The text is more verbose and beautifully written, of course, in the Russian version, this is the native language of mine and the students. Therefore, if you speak Russian, then translate from the Russian version.

2) The folder wd_book/ru/graphics in Russian version contains a few extra subfolders (commons, programs, sketch) as I started out writing a book with students about "App Inventor" but then (a year later) I switched to Wikidata. I will delete these subfolders.

3) I agree that some commons files should be placed in one common folder. One notion. Each student is working on a separate article. The task is to organize the folders in such a way as to minimize one student to destroy the work (contribution) of the other students. Therefore, even the pictures are divided into chapters in separate folders in the folder {ru or en}/graphics/chapter/Name-of-chapter. Yes common files could be located in the root/graphics/chapter/Name-of-chapter.

Thus, the difference in main .tex files in the root folder is due to the fact that different style files are used. And this is not a trivial task for me to make a single file.

The question with illustrations is easier to solve. I agree to organize shared files in a shared folder.

If you choose the English version as the basis for translation, then we can try to organize a single structure for the English and Czech versions, with one style file.
