Issues with Data User Agreement (original English version) #125

Open ferreira-santos opened 2 years ago

While working on the Portuguese translation of the Data User Agreement we noticed two issues with the original English document:

  1. There is an inconsistent use of "Data User Agreement" (as shown on titles) and "Data Use Agreement" as used in the text. Considering the contents of the document our opinion was that "Data Use Agreement" would be the better expression (it means it is an agreement on how to use the data), and this is also the wording used in the Donders Institute DUA that is cited as a reference.

  2. In Point 4, the English grammar is not perfect. It reads "When sharing secondary or derivative data (e.g. group statistical maps or templates), I will only do so if they are on a group level, and cannot be deduced information from individual participants." but the sentence ending would read better as "(...) and information from individual participants cannot be deduced."

In any case, we thought to raise the issues so that the core team can look into it.

nice finds @ferreira-santos .

Re DUA: I am also surprised that Wikipedia has neither https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_use_agreement nor https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_user_agreement . Interested to join effort to create and lead one of those on wikipedia? Feel welcome to submit a PR to harmonize.

Re English wording: best would be to submit a PR, indeed initial formulation is odd, and I have something in back of my head as we had it fixed (may be there are multiple places?)
