@asmacdo also, as a general note, LaTeX supports proper typography and consequently distinguishes sharply between "
(U+0022), “
(U+201C) and ”
(U+201D).
The former can mean different things depending on what packages are loaded, but will otherwise just expand to the most basic doube quotes, namely ”
, meaning that "containers"
will be typeset as ”containers”
.
For the proper typesetting, “containers”
, just write the proper characters, “containers”
.
If you do not have keys for these characters easily accessible on your keyboard (and are not interested in changing that), LaTeX offers ``
as a binding for “
and ''
as a more reliable binding for ”
, so you could write ``containers''
and also obtain “containers”
.
But please consider just using the correct characters, the alternative is just a hacky and visually offensive remnant from the days before UTF-8.
ISO keyboard layouts usually have these characters available via <AltGr>+<some letter key on the bottom row>
. Not sure about ANSI which is what I assume you are using, but give it a try, they might already be there.
...
Ok, so I checked, I think they could be above the enter key for you.
WIP, hot off the press.
