Chasing the chain of links helpfully provided by 0xbe7a in #128, it looks like this problem might be caused by syn 2.0.69-72. I added a quick line to uprade syn prior to building to see if that fixes the build.

Upgrading syn was not enough to fix this.

I'm trying downgrading the C compiler now.

Ok, we have working MacOS builds. Now all that is failing is Linux ARM.

I'm going to go ahead and merge with failing linux-aarch64, in hopes that one of the other upcoming version bumps might fix this.
