Main obstacles (imo):

• some deps need be available for aarch, ppc, and arm
• not really sure how cross-compiling works with julia

I see --- it is on the back burner for now, we have other more immediate problems with packaging deps and all that. Also, we may need to rethink the direction of this feedstock at some point (maybe have a repackaged release as well as a conda-forge-specific release, etc.)
