Still can't find a proper way to fix #2 for downstream packages...😥 Closing.

Just a thought: maybe there's a bug in 10.1.1 and it's fixed by 10.1.2...?

Nope. Still fails. Compared to a force installation (of a newer version) that works in the current master, the uninstalling and removing (of the old version) done in this PR must have a missing piece so that smpd keeps picking up the old PMP version (#2). I tried examining the registry and the background processes, but found nothing noticeable. So sad...

Looks promising (?) -- At 207b627, the number of the outputs "request: received version 3, expected 4" is reduced from 2 to 1. Something is changed when I play with the registry!

I need a separate playground for other tests when I have time, but #2 is fixed so let me close this one.
