OSMNX installation unsuccessful and removed anaconda #36

Issue: Installation not successful. Install of osmnx "removed" Anaconda. Anaconda-Navigator and Spyder broken

Description: Hi everybody, Hi Gboing, I tried to install Osmnx with the code conda install -c conda-forge osmnx as you provided it. I entered a y to start the installation. It said the installation went successful. You can see the whole Conda Prompt History attached (please note I installed numpy first) CondaLog_Installation.txt

However,

  1. I cannot open anaconda-navigator or Spyder anymore. You can see in the attached file, that during the OSMNX installation "anocanda" (I don't know which part of it?) will be removed
  2. I can open and work in jupyter notebook. But OSMNX like import osmnx as ox G = ox.graph_from_place('Manhattan Island, New York City, New York, USA', network_type='drive') ox.plot_graph(ox.project_graph(G)) does not work

What did I do wrong? How can I fix it?

(I already checked conda install conda and conda install anaconda-navigator with the result: All requested packages are already installed)

Try installing OSMnx in a new clean virtual environment as described in the docs and here https://github.com/gboeing/osmnx/issues/258
