bump to 1.3.0 #253

I can't reproduce the failure locally on OSX

FYI: Requesting this update manually was necessary because the bot deferred updating this feedstock because of the failures it encountered with the old recipe. For future updates, this will of course not be the case anymore.

Using rosetta, I was able to reproduce the failure locally on my machine with 32 GB memory when using osx-64 as the build platform. All tested versions of clang (clang-16 and clang-18) and OSX SDKs (including 13.3) produced the same segmentation fault for me.

To reproduce this, I had to edit the .scripts/run-osx-build.sh file to include --channel conda-forge/label/rust_dev --channel conda-forge as arguments to the conda-build command; otherwise, the build would fail due to strict-channel-priority.

Afterward, I used the build-locally.py script with rosetta like this: arch -x86_64 ./build-locally.py

I obtained a core dump from clang and also monitored the kernel log for failures related to code signing.

I bisected the failure down to an update of Cargo.lock. Further, I determined that the failure was caused by the patch of syn from 2.0.68 to 2.0.72. The changelog for syn does not mention any fixes or issues like the one we observed. Locally, all versions between and including 2.0.69 and 2.0.72 are causing the build to fail. Polars version 1.5.0 started to work again as it included a bump of syn to 2.0.74.

I have created a patch to build polars v1.3.0 and v1.4.0 with syn 2.0.74 on the new branches v1.3.0 and v1.4.0

Before assuming the issue lies with syn, we should further minimize this failure. After examining the diff between 2.0.68 to 2.0.69 and 2.0.72 to 2.0.73, I'm not convinced that syn is the primary cause. clang should not segfault regardless; it seems more likely that syn is merely triggering the failure.
