if it can be built on CIs then sure why not.
in order for the docker framework to function, the ROCm kernel and corresponding modules must be installed on the host machine. Containers share the host kernel, so the ROCm KFD component ROCK-Kernel-Driver1 functions outside of docker.
ROCm is gonna be a pretty big lift (even just having the infra in conda-forge), but would be very cool to have. I'm also interested in it.
Fyi, I posted a slight update in the issue linked by @h-vetinari: https://github.com/conda-forge/conda-forge.github.io/issues/1923#issuecomment-2065144973
Comment:
Is there any appetite to add a ROCm variant? It would be great, particularly since some big HPC like LUMI have gone with AMD cards.
I do understand that this feedstock is much more work than others and it's probably hard to commit to another new variant, but I think it's useful to track this here.
Wrt infrastructure, it seems that a number of things are already in place, c.f. the list in the tracking issue https://github.com/conda-forge/staged-recipes/issues/10123.
