This vote is to accept Jannis Leidel (@jezdez) to the conda core team as defined in the governance document.

Nomination:

Hi all, I'm Jannis ("jezdez" on the internet), a Software Engineer working on the newly formed conda team at Anaconda with over a decade of experience with Open Source communities and package management.

A decade ago I co-founded the PyPA (Python Packaging Authority) as a means to organize the volunteer efforts of my fellow pip and virtualenv maintainers. We worked on packaging to scratch an itch due, while working on growing the Django web development ecosystem and fix its lack of deployability. Since then I've worked as a Staff Software Engineer on the Mozilla Developer Network and the Mozilla Data team to build communities and platforms for the good of the web. It was basically a full circle for me coming back to work on package management when I joined Anaconda recently with a focus on improving conda not only technically but also organizationally.

I'm serious about community building and have served on the Django Software Foundation (2014-2015) and Python Software Foundation (2019-present) boards of directors and various workgroups, e.g. the OPS and fund-raising teams at the DSF and the packaging workgroup, project funding workgroup and finance committee at the PSF, and the PyPA.

My hope is to improve the Conda project towards the open and get the help it needs to continue to grow -- in support of all its users and contributors. Volunteering for the conda-forge project in particular has been an eye opener and acknowledged to me its role in the past years as an essential pillar of the conda ecosystem.

Relaunching the conda enhancement proposals was one of my first steps to help bring the people together to work on conda's future. Other things I've recently done: coordinating the ongoing experimental adoption of the libmamba solver in conda and the addition of a plugin API.

Core membership would allow me to better coordinate my work with the rest of the community.

This PR falls under the member nomination policy, please vote and/or comment on this PR. This PR needs "2/3rds of majority" of core to vote yea to pass. If you would like changes to the current language please leave a comment or push to this branch.

edit MRB: I removed the end date since it will depend on when the poll launches.
