Cannot block "apple.com" #126

It seems Lockdown is not able to block Apple even when "apple.com" is manually added to the Custom tab in Block List. As far as I understand, this should block http://apple.com in Safari and Brave.

PS. I do realize that long-term blocking access to apple.com is not a good idea, but not being able to do that effectively makes me wonder what other urls cannot be blocked (for whatever reason).

Tested on: iOS 15.4 (iPhone 12-13), Lockdown v1.3.3

@hijohnnylin he raised a good question. Why “Apple.com” domain is not being blocked even in the latest iOS by the the latest version of Lockdown Privacy app?

by the way, almost one year passed since this question was raised.

hoping to get some explanation.

Hi @adam-jan-82 and @parthdshah9, next time please reach out to team@lockdownhq.com for customer support like this. You are attempting to block a "whitelisted" domain. Using an iPhone/iPad/mac means using Apple services, and some websites are whitelisted since, in our experience, you will see issues. We then get a ton of feedback for the opposite reason: "you broke my favorite website/app/feature/etc!" The default whitelist does include apple.com. Fortunately, you can change this very easily:

Now, if you have that domain blocked in your custom Blocklist, then it should be blocked. Please keep in mind this will break things and it will be hard to track down the source if you do this for a lot of domains at once. Hope that helps!
