Could not submit metrics to confluent while starting ksql server #2901

I am trying to start ksql server using the minimum config like broker details, sasl config etc but it throw error while starting

Could not submit metrics toConfluent: connect to version-check. Confluent. Io:443...

Is this because I am not using control center, is it not possible to use ksql if we are not using control center?
