Supporting multiple languages would be good for expanding capabilities.

Requirements:

add the i18n library to the project
convert all instances of english text to dynamically generated from i18n
create a language definition file, starting with english.
add a language switching button to the website, probably in the footer so it's always rendered.
[optional] provide the translations for a 2nd language.

Are there any drawbacks to implementing this? Sounds like we should go ahead with it.

It's just a yak shaving task. Basically adding this dependency and then converting all existing text to use the translation hook instead:
