Receive feedback from people that play the game and take it all on board, recording the highlights.

Additionally, receive the final rating for the game within the competiontion at the end of the jam and see how we do :)

General Feedback:

I ended up getting lots of feedback from the game, including approx. 41 ratings of the game and 31 comments on the submission page: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/dr-shrink-and-the-horrors-of-the-infinite

Additionally, a few streamers played my game! Here are links to the vods!

I have also had quite a lot of people in my personal life play the game :))))

Generally, feedback has been really great! Here's the main points that came up a lot:

Honestly though, it has been so unreasonably cool to have had so many people play the game and genuinely have a bit of fun with it :) really pleased with the response overall.

Jam Results

And here we go, the final results for Dr. Shrink and the Horrors of the Infinite are.....

WOWEE! I got two 2-digit placements!!!!

Honestly just generally super pleased with this result. I think (although I can't be 100% sure because LD's website and presentation of information is shockingly bad) that this places me in and around the top 40% for Mood, the top 20% for Overall and Fun, the top 10% for Innovation, and the top 3% for both Innovation and Theme!

Truthfully I'm not terribly surprised that Innovation and Theme were where I scored the highest on given that that seemed to be where other jammers where complimenting me on the most, but I definitely did not expect to be ranked 31 and 35 in those categories!! It's kind of hard to tell from the website, but for now I'm assuming that there were around 1000 submissions for the Jam that actually got a rating (although this actually feels like a low estimation if anything), so I'm basing my maths on that assumption.

The area that I rated the lowest on is Mood, which I think makes sense. I wasn't exactly trying to focus on that category and probably would have considered it my lowest priority, but I do think it would be cool to up-skill in that area going forward. Good to have specifics on where I've got room for improvement!

Overall I am completely thrilled with this result. Ultimately though, I do think that it is true what they say that your real prize is the game that you made, and when all is said and done, the thing I'm most proud of really is completing the game at all and getting it all over the line!! I'll reflect more specifically on how I plan to hone my weak points as part of #24, but for now, YAHOO!!! Go Dr. Shrink!!!
