Expand on data benefits #153

Closed angelbtorres closed 4 years ago

angelbtorres commented 4 years ago

“Every piece of data I share brings me a benefit; it doesn't just help the company.”

While this is an important step in data transparency, perhaps equally as important is informing a user when their shared data is no longer benefitting them or is no longer being used by the company. Additionally, organizations should provide the option to rescind their data in such an event. This user data could be securely archived and requested again if the company needs it in the future.

Thanks @angelbtorres! This may be hard to implement in the Digital Standard if we don't have clear reference implementations out there in the marketplace -- closing for now but please feel free to re-open in the future.

CC'ing @dmarti who is thinking about how to offer this functionality to California consumers through the CCPA authorized agent provision.
