The attached svg.zip contains SVG images for all the ASCII diagrams found in the spec. Assuming acceptance this should make the document much nicer to view.
The sources of these diagrams are at the referenced repository and are written in PIKchr. PIKchr is a modernized revival of Kernighan's Pic diagram language done by the sqlite guy :smile: . It generates SVG instead of Troff.
Note, as should be clear from the source reference, I have not written these diagrams. However I apparently was the pebble triggering the avalanche with my forum post.
Legal status: My non-lawyer reading of Melak's disclaimment is that the diagrams he wrote in response to my post are public domain / CC-0. Some lawyer should confirm.
I have attached the result of running the diagrams through a pikchr processor so that you don't have to (get pikchr sources, compile sources, run pikchr files through). Rendering was done was with revision d9e1502ed74c6aab of PIKchr.
