This is an LoCS term. So is 'content audit'. Both are so fundamental to UX content practices that they arguably need included. However, I propose that we use a single glossary entry, 'content analysis', which comprises both aspects -- inventory and audit -- and address the full scope of in a single definition. 'Content inventory' and 'content audit' then become synonymous terms in the glossary index that redirect to the primary analysis definition.
The revision history in that document shows @vinishgarg started the file, which I fiddled with later, but I don't know if anyone else contributed originally at a different location.
