Tale as old as time. Looked at a few solutions folks have proposed for this. Seems like the scrollbar-gutter CSS property, while cool, doesn't work for us since it takes a chunk out of the nav. Need to try a few more options to determine what's best / rule out SO answers that are out-of-date at this point.
