Enhancements for app - Bulk Loading etc #103

I am using the latest version 10.016

Bulk barcode reader option required. I have hundreds of books and scanning them
in takes too long. For each Book I scan require two key presses. Once to
initiate a barcode Scan, once to confirm to save the book.

For a bulk option wait for a barcode as per the Scan button. When barcode found
scan in, if Barcode recognised by google and book NOT already in the database
then automatically save and then start camera again for another barcode.

Other enhancements....
1. I have some books where they are so old there is no barcode, but there is an
ISBN No. also some books might have the barcode covered up or un-readable. so
when creating a manual entry I would like to be able to type in the ISBN code
and then get the app to try and get all the details from google. Saves my
typing in all the details myself.

2. ability when scanning barcode where ISBN is not recognised. Some ISBN I have
scanned are not found. BUT they ARE exactly as on the book. i.e. Google (or
whaterver) database does not have that ISBN. I would like to be able to force
the saving of the book info anyway. i.e. "Woops ISBN no not recognised, would
you like to save the Details anyway." This would bring up the book details edit
screen with the ISBN details already entered and then the user had to enter the
rest of the details to complete the entry.

3. Authors quite ofter have multiple books all related. i.e. ASIMOV Foundation
series, Harry Potter, Terry Pratchet Discword series. So it would be useful if
you could add another section "series title" also as well as being able to sort
by author (surname please) but also by Book series, OR author/book series. (I
presume that when selecting say author that books are then sorted by title)

Sorry for placing this here but I could not find anywhere else to put it.

Regards

Adelio

Another bulk load option is to just perform minimum. i.e. scan barcode and
store and do a bulk load of all the data afterwards. Only really needed if
doing a LOT of books. Get the scanning done quickly and then get all details at
your leasure.

Thanks for the report and info, most of what you're suggesting here is already
on tap in other issues already open, but I'll review this issue the next time I
get a chance to work on BookWorm stuff and make sure to include each item.

Bulk loading via scan is issue 34.

Typing in an ISBN already works, at the "Search" page. You can type in as many
ISBNs there as you need and it will search via that.

Issue 22 deals with grouping via tags.

After more careful review the only new enhancement here is to bring up the
"enter details" manually (edit) page when a scan is not recognized. We could do
that, but we won't have any details other than the number (if any) that the
barcode scanned into. Generally when the "whoops" message comes up, it's NOT an
ISBN, so I am not sure that would be useful anyway? Books sometimes have more
than one barcode on them. See the menu->scanning help page for info on that.
Try the inside front cover code, if the back of the book code doesn't work.
