Nothing works because the installer doesn't work.

I've done this by installing Photoshop CC 2018 on my windows computer (virtual machine also works) and copying the files to my wine directory.
See more: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/7ql4kl/the_screenshots_of_photoshop_cc_2018_64bit_on/
Yeah, Photoshop 2018 works really well with some minor bugs. It's a real shame that adobe doesnt care about linux...
ok thanks hope this installeur can works in futur ! thanks for your works
Yeah me too. Adobe software is the only reason i still have a windows vm... It sucks that I don't understand a thing about what's going on in the script. I tried it but kept getting errors. I could log into creative cloud, then update, but then it just closes and doesn't work.
Someone submitted a patch to an older version of the script, supposedly fixing downloads and rebasing it on Wine 2.8-staging: https://www.playonlinux.com/en/app-3251.html (see newest reply)
I won't have a chance to test it until this weekend, but feel free to try it and report back.
Someone submitted a patch to an older version of the script, supposedly fixing downloads and rebasing it on Wine 2.8-staging
Using the 2.8-staging patch for the classic script causes my cpu to go to 100% and everything freezes. So at least for me it's not working at all.
I've tried the most recent wine version of my distribution (4.5-staging) w/ the classic script and while the installation runs fine, the application manager fails to install Photoshop CC with a Download Error (404), and fails other installations with an extraction error.
Would be really sad if the only way to get it to run is though pirated versions, especially since I'm paying for Adobe CC and really don't want to use illegal stuff...
It crashes during the installer on my laptop running Fedora 30 Beta.
the installer reported back saying it was counterfeit using the patched older script and choosing to download the installer.
using Ubuntu 18.10
I'm on Ubuntu 19.04, first time trying this script. Using playonlinux 4.3.4 and wine-2.20-staging as per default, the cc installer launches, causes wine to notify me with an error report AGMService.exe encountered an issue
but then proceeds to the login window and tries to update itself. This ends in a crash with another bug report from wine CreativeCloud.exe encountered an issue
. Both reports as a gist, the primer one is related to the report submitted for issue #43.
Using newer x86 versions of wine have generally allowed me to log in, but caused the cc installer itself to keep on loading after login and eventually crash, offering me to send a bug report to adobe (which I can't view).
I am 16, and I wanted Photoshop for graphic designing. I have used your script for installing creative cloud, it works ok for me, just that I can't install anything. Workaround!! Get the offline installer for 32 bit Photoshop or Illustrator, Go to wine plugins - install atmlib, vcrun 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, tahoma, corefonts, gdiplus, msxml3 and 6, (Or you can use winetricks). Go to your os website and install libpng2.0 latest version whatsoever.(I am using ibuntu, I installed xenial version and works fine) Install normal depencdies
Extract the downloaded setup exe on another Windows machine, to copy the program files, adobe, etc Paste it into the play on Linux drive c (you can get extracted Photoshop file on internet)
Run photoshop.exe
Works like a charm. Try this and ask for bugs, in case I missed any step.
Link for libpng https://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/i386/libpng12-0/download
@srevinsaju Which Photoshop version are you referring to? The old CS6 or the new CC 2019?
you can get extracted Photoshop file on internet
Legally? Like from adobe? Because most of the people that I've seen, needed some cracked or 3rd party versions and I definitely do not want that.
I managed to get the old PS CS6 running by using adobes own, (official!) offline installers but not the new CC 2019 due to the webview not rendering.
I am talking about Photoshop 2018 version. Legally, you can get the setup from https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2018-direct-download-links.html
This is just a link to the main thread of Adobe.
I managed to get the old PS CS6 running by using adobes own, (official!) offline installers but not the new CC 2019 due to the webview not rendering. Webview won't render due to mshtml problem, but extraction can be done manually if you want, you do this
setup.exe -- silent
Try this, if you can't extract in a real 32 bit windows I tried with illustrator cc 2018, and it worked, idk about Photoshop. It works on the same principle.
It's always been possible to copy a completed Photoshop install from Windows to a Wine drive, but that doesn't help this install script, and I'm not sure if updates would even work with that method.
@corbindavenport , it is updating, but it is going to cc 2019, as far as I checked. But after update, it doesn't work. Adobe cef HTML 19 is showing mshtml error
I have error in Photoshop, all my tools and tooltips are slanting, like jitter. Not stable, and artboard is also flat. Do you have a fix for that
It's always been possible to copy a completed Photoshop install from Windows to a Wine drive, but that doesn't help this install script, and I'm not sure if updates would even work with that method.
How do you do that? If i have a instalation of illustrator on a windows pc i can take it to wine and would work fine?
I did everything but I get this error when I'm trying to run .exe file with wine "0009:fixme:msvcp:_LocinfoLocinfo_ctor_cat_cstr (0x33e86c 63 ) semi-stub 0009:fixme:msvcp:localeLocimpMakexloc (0x33e86c 63 0x53176e0 (nil)) semi-stub 0009:fixme:msvcp:localeLocimpMakewloc (0x33e86c 63 0x53176e0 (nil)) semi-stub 0009:fixme:msvcp:localeLocimpMakeushloc (0x33e86c 63 0x53176e0 (nil)) semi-stub 0009:fixme:msvcp:_LocinfoLocinfo_ctor_cat_cstr (0x33e688 1 C) semi-stub 0009:fixme:msvcp:_LocinfoLocinfo_ctor_cat_cstr (0x33e6dc 1 C) semi-stub 0009:fixme:msvcp:_LocinfoLocinfo_ctor_cat_cstr (0x33e6b4 1 C) semi-stub wine: Call from 0x7b43de4c to unimplemented function msvcp140.dll._Strxfrm, aborting 0009:err:module:attach_dlls "dvanet.dll" failed to initialize, aborting 0009:err:module:attach_dlls Initializing dlls for L"Z:\home\[username]\Desktop\Adobe InDesign CC 2019 (32-bit)\InDesign.exe" failed, status 80000100"

Oops, which wine are you using? Even I got this error of dvanet.DLL, but I fixed it by getting out of playOnLinux and starting program from CC. The only problem is slanting UI, everything is distorted.
Use Wine 4.0, I did like that, illustrator 2018 CC starts, but ui is not functioning properly. CS6. Works fine. Looking for a fix to the distorted UI
PS: Check the VC2015, 2008 is installed from program and feature list
I did the Photoshop CC 2019 manual installation workaround (install on Windows, copy folder to Linux). Photoshop starts but I immediately get a blank log in window, hence I can't log in. If I close that window, Photoshop quits. I believe this problem might be related to the Creative Cloud installer issue as in both cases these Adobe applications are unable to connect to the internet as if something was blocking the connection.
Was anybody able to log in with Photoshop CC 2019 installed manually?
@mzogithub You have two options:
Ps: Please update if you have any luck in running Photoshop 19 smoothly
@srevinsaju Thanks. I had Mono and Gecko installed already on this prefix. I tried the first option but it still behaves the same. You mentioned to connect ethernet after I restart Photoshop, instead I connected my iPhone through USB tethering, which is recognized in Ubuntu as an ethernet connection (I don't have direct access to a router to connect via ethernet cable).
So to recap, I disabled WIFI. I started Photoshop. This time the log in window instead of blank was telling me that there was no internet connection. I clicked Quit Photoshop. I restart Photoshop, I connected the tethered iPhone connection, clicked Try Again and at this point the blank window come back again. Did I do anything wrong?
I have some additional information. Some user on the WineHQ forum suggested being unable to log in Photoshop CC may be a bug as described in this link:
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47015
I tried the workaround steps and now the login window is bypassed and Photoshop CC 2019 starts without being logged in. In this way, I can open, edit and save existing files but it won't allow me to create new files. If I try to log in from the top menu, PS crashes. Everything seems to work fine except the content-aware fill (which I believe is a known bug) and anything related to logging in or connecting to the internet (create new file, sign in, CC online library, etc)
Any news?
I played around with this for a few hours, this time ditching PlayOnLinux entirely and just running the 32-bit Wine 4.0 that comes with Ubuntu 19.04. More or less the same result as before - Wine with the Gecko browser results in a white screen, and Wine with IE8 gives connection errors.
The one thing I did notice in both cases is SSL errors:
0030:warn:winsock:wsaErrno errno 115, (Operation now in progress).
0030:warn:wintrust:WinVerifyTrust unknown action {573e31f8-aaba-11d0-8ccb-00c04fc295ee}, default behavior may not be right
0030:fixme:wintrust:HTTPSCertificateTrust (0x3948488)
0030:fixme:wintrust:HTTPSFinalProv (0x3948488)
Maybe the SSL certificate(s) for Adobe's login/download servers isn't being added somehow?
Maybe the root certificates are out of date or it can't verify newer certificates that use new formats. I was just recently using wine (3.0 from 18.04) with some other things that had web views and it too was having certificate errors. This is very similar to what happens when you use an outdated browser (like IE8) on the modern internet.
Yeah, I'm not sure how to get past this. Wine's internal browser can load some sites fine, like WineHQ and Google, but Adobe.com fails to load entirely. I've tried to manually download Adobe's web certificate and import it into Wine from the Internet Options (wine control
), but it doesn't seem to work, regardless if Internet Explorer 8 or Wine Gecko is the default browser/rendering engine.
WineHQ:
Google:
Adobe.com:
That's curious. Do you think they're intentionally blocking the user agent?
It would be interesting if you could visit a site that shows you what user agent that Wine Gecko uses, and then test it in another browser using that user agent string to see if Adobe's site also refuses to load.

I was wondering if this could be reported as a Wine bug since since it seems Wine's fault not being able to connect to adobe.com? Last time we reported a bug on their bug tracker, the issue was fixed in the next release two weeks later.
I have Sabayon up to date, with Wine 4.1, all 64bit. I can access Adobe's site:
But there are pages it doesn't work. I guess IE8 is not supported, though. It should be long gone. IE11 started to ask to use Edge lately, on Windows.
There is a bug report in wine project: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47015
Maybe the different behaviour on Ubuntu and Sabayon has something to do with this bug: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32479
I also found that bug @kazemihabib, but the workaround posted didn't fix anything in my testing, the DLLs from 32-bit Windows 7 just made calls to other DLLs that Wine hasn't completely implemented.
In my he updated everything, but when I click on Apps the same hangs and gives this error.
After installing ie6 the apps tab is launching but the buttons aren't clickable. Also the updater (at the top of the window) hangs on 0%. I've got KERNEL32 "unimplemented functions..." from CoreSync.exe. I do some tests this night.
I've got it working now after installing ie8 on top of ie6 and set wintrust to builtin. Using wine 2.20-staging. ATM i've test only Photoshop and i can say it works.
The update of Creative Cloud failed but i think it's not needed right now.
Nice! It sucks that Wine Gecko doesn't seem to work, since that limits us to 32-bit only, but that's better than nothing.
If I have time, I'll try to test that this weekend and update the script accordingly.
hi, this stuff seems super cool. from what i can see, its broken, but from recent comments, its working again? i would really love to move to linux but i cannot sacrifice this stuff. please let me know where this is at thank you
@Kenzim When this issue is closed, the install script will be working.
Great news about the progress. I would advise to appended these new discoveries to the existing white screen bug page on Wine Bugzilla. That would allow the developers to possibly fix the issue in Wine and ideally allow this to work in a 64bit prefix. I would help and add this new information myself but you guys know the matter better than me.
I have the updated testing script in the dev branch: https://github.com/corbindavenport/creative-cloud-linux/blob/dev/creativecloud.sh
However, installing IE6 then 8 (and setting wintrust to builtin) doesn't seem to fix anything compared to just IE8 on its own on my PC. I'm still getting the connection error after clicking Sign In:
Here are all the Winetricks I'm using:
msxml3 atmlib corefonts fontsmooth=rgb gdiplus ie6 ie8 win7
I'm using 32-bit Wine 4.0.2 from the official Ubuntu repos on Pop_OS 19.04 64-bit. I haven't tried wine 2.20 through PlayOnLinux, but I'd like to avoid that route if possible (newer Wine fixes a lot of potential issues).
Right, I don't like the idea myself, I would like to be able installing it under 64bit also, but there might be some important implementation in Wine 2 that was dropped lately, or changed in a way it breaks CC in the latest versions. Must Gecko be unistalled, BTW?
Okay, I was finally able to pass the login screen by setting wininet
to Builtin instead of wintrust
, all other options the same. However, the install script crashes as soon as it tries to continue downloading, and I get a bunch of mshtml errors.
I'd be happy if I download an offline package, install it and I am able to login while in Photoshop!
I only get:
For Adobe you need Windows 7. You can change it with winecfg in your prefix.
I did. Does the same.

I get the next error with POP OS 19.04 i get the adobe installetion by 0% this error and the it shutdowns. Hope you know how to fix it
Hi people
Is the script still not working or has a solution been found?
There is no fix at all. On my ubuntu 18.04 i‘ve got it working but on ubuntu 19.04 the Apps won‘t launch. I still debugging and i dont think the ie is That Problem, there are some Security reasons. If i found a fix i will Post it here.
Creative Cloud screen is normal, showing apps. But it has been updating for some time and has not gone beyond the 0%. I can not install any app until I finish this update!
