Status quo: RSL and Charles Butt Scholars layers (possibly also others?) have points rendered opaque in the first year they are shown, and then progressively more translucent as they age.
Desired behaviour: all points in one layer render the same. Probably not fully opaque given the point density.
This turned out to apply to all layers, but also to be quite a bit simpler than I'd expected because there was just one place in one function setting the interpolation.
