Failed boot of default on bare metal #187

Closed jcragin closed 9 years ago

jcragin commented 10 years ago

When booting from the current beta or alpha the boot_kernel target fails on my bare metal install on an HP g1 blade.

Selecting coreos.A or .B firectly from grub succeeds.

The boot process gets through selecting the correct boot partition and seems to fail when trying to mount to root after the new kernel is loaded.

Sorry for the delayed response. I am assuming that /devices/pci0000:40/0000:40:11.0/0000:4f:00.0/0000:50:08.0 is your disk controller and either the hardware and/or driver is getting confused by kexec. We will be releasing a new alpha this week (version will likely be about 533) that removes our use of kexec and should in turn fix your issue.

marineam commented 9 years ago

New installs from alpha versions 534.1.0 and later should resolve this issue.
